Privacy policy

• No ads, no trackers, no selling of data. Ever.
• We only collect what is needed to run the game and protect it from abuse.
• You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from the profile customization page.

The website publisher, a private individual (see the legal notice). Any question: contact@music-loop.com or the Contact page.

Your account (to log in and keep your progress): email address, password (stored hashed, never in clear), pseudo, appearance (skin, colour, banner). Your previous pseudos are kept and shown on your public profile so other players recognise you.

Guest account: a pseudo only, no email.

Your games (to run the game): answers, response times, points, per-category rankings, speed records, best games and unlocked skins. These results are public: leaderboards, profile, home page activity feed.

Chat: your messages and reactions, visible to players in the room.

Security and moderation (legitimate interest: protecting the community): IP address and browser at sign-up, last connection date, reports, and moderation history (warnings, mutes, bans).

Statistics (to improve the site): the website you came from and the first page seen when you signed up, and the number of rounds played per room. Audience measurement is home-made, without cookies or identifiers: only page views per day and per referring site are counted. To show how many people are online, each open tab sends a signal every 45 seconds with a random number kept only for the life of the tab; the server only keeps the count, in memory, and forgets it after 90 seconds.

Contact form: your message (and your email if you give it) is emailed to the publisher so they can reply; it is not stored on the site.

The only emails sent are technical: address verification, forgotten password, email change. No marketing emails.

• Account: until you delete it.
• Chat messages: 24 hours, then deleted automatically (a short excerpt is kept in the moderation log only if a moderator deleted the message).
• Sign-up IP and browser: 12 months.
• Rooms joined history: 12 months.
• Guest accounts: anonymized after 12 months without connection.
• Server technical logs (IP address, requested page): a few days, rotated automatically.
• Sanctions and reports: kept for community safety, including after an account is deleted (without email or pseudo).

The publisher and volunteer moderators (for moderation only). Technical providers:

• Amazon Web Services: hosting, servers located in France (Paris).
• Resend: sending technical emails (your address and the email content). US-based company: transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your browser also loads album covers directly from Deezer and picture-category images from Wikimedia Commons and flagcdn.com: as with any image on the web, these services see your IP address. Audio goes through our servers.

No data is sold or used for advertising.

No advertising or analytics cookies. A single preference cookie: the language (NEXT_LOCALE), if you change it.

Your browser's local storage keeps your login session, your preferences (chat, dismissed banners, challenges tab) and, for sign-up statistics, the website you first came from. You can clear all of it from your browser settings.

You can access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its processing, or ask for a copy:

• Correct your pseudo or email: profile customization page.
• Delete your account: same page, "Delete my account". Your account is permanently anonymized: email, password, pseudos, records, best games, skins and messages are erased, and your profile disappears.
• Anything else (copy of your data, guest account…): contact@music-loop.com or the Contact page. Answer within one month.

If you think your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr), the French data protection authority.

If you are under 15, ask a parent before creating an account. You can also play as a guest, without email.
